V The Finance Verdict

Affiliate disclosure.

The Finance Verdict participates in affiliate programs from a number of personal-finance product companies — budgeting apps, credit monitoring services, investing platforms, tax software, banks, and debt-management companies. When you click a link on this site and sign up through one of those programs, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

We will never recommend a tool we wouldn't use ourselves, even when the commission would be higher.

Brands with active or pending affiliate relationships

As of the current publication, we hold or are pursuing affiliate relationships with:

  • Budgeting — YNAB, Monarch Money, Rocket Money, EveryDollar, Copilot, Tiller, Quicken, Simplifi
  • Credit monitoring — Credit Karma, Experian, MyFICO, IdentityIQ, LifeLock, Identity Guard
  • Investing — Empower (Personal Capital), M1 Finance, Wealthfront, Betterment, Robinhood
  • Tax software — TurboTax, H&R Block, FreeTaxUSA, Cash App Taxes, TaxSlayer, TaxAct
  • Banking and savings — SoFi, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, Ally, Discover, Capital One, Chime
  • Debt management — National Debt Relief, Freedom Debt Relief, Accredited Debt Relief

Most of these are managed via affiliate networks (Impact, CJ Affiliate, FlexOffers, ShareASale, Rakuten). A handful are direct partnerships.

How affiliate links are marked

All outbound links to affiliate partners are marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML — the standard signal Google requests for affiliate links — and open in a new tab.

How recommendations are ranked

We rank by what fits the use case, not by commission size. If two budgeting apps offer similar features but one pays $30 per signup and another pays $80, we recommend whichever is better for the reader.

For example: a $0/year FreeTaxUSA filing is sometimes the right pick over a $189 TurboTax filing, even though the TurboTax commission would be larger. The recommendation tracks what you should do, not what would pay us.

What this affiliate revenue funds

Affiliate commissions fund the editorial and testing work behind this site. We don't run paid advertising or sponsored content. We don't share our email subscribers with affiliate partners.

No financial-credential collection

We do not collect bank account credentials, Social Security numbers, or any other sensitive financial information on this site. When you click an affiliate link, you connect directly with the product company under their own privacy and security policies. We never see your account data.

FTC compliance

This disclosure exists in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255).
